11-year-old boy rescued after falling down 30ft embankment

FIRE crews, the regions air ambulance and the Derby Mountain Rescue team saved a child who had fallen down a 30ft embankment.

The incident, at 3.20 this afternoon, happened as the 11-year-old boy was walking along the Monsall Trail, close to Litton Mill.

    Emergency crews were called out after a child fell down an embankment on the Monsall Trail

The boy was secured by firefighters from Buxton and Matlock and was transferred onto a stretcher and taken up the embankment by the Derby Mountain Rescue team to the waiting  Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance and flown to hospital.
