4,000 signature petition to abolish death penalty in India handed to MPs in Derby
A 4,000 signature petition to ask the British government to force the abolition of the death penalty has been handed to two Derbyshire MPs.
Chris Williamson and Heather Wheeler were handed the petition at the Guru Arjan Dev Gurdwara, in Stanhope Street, Normanton, earlier today.
The petition follows a larger 120,000 name petition which caused the matter to be debated in the House of Commons on Thursday February 28.

“I guess a 4000 signature petition will carry more weight than one with 120,000 signatures after all the country seems to be run for the minorities now.”
