A WEAPONS amnesty launched in Derby two weeks ago has resulted in 49 guns and 69 knives being handed to police.

The amnesty, coordinated by Derby Community Safety Partnership, was launched in the wake of the death of 15-year-old Kadeem Blackwood in November. The teenager died after he was shot in the chest on Caxton Street recreation ground.
