NEARLY 500 people have signed up to take part in Race for Life events in Derby.

Recruitment for the events, at Darley Park and Kedleston Hall, was launched last month.

Darley Park will host two 5km races, one at 10.30am and one at 2.30pm, on May 9, while Kedleston Hall will hold simultaneous 5km and 10km races on July 18, at 10.30am.

Last year, 7,295 women joined the 5km race at two events at Darley Park, while 2,241 took part at Donington Park's event, now moved to Kedleston Hall.
