A52 cleared after husky is killed

TRAFFIC was at a standstill on the A52 westbound after a husky was killed after being hit on the road.

A pair of the dogs were running on the dual carriageway close to the Cole Lane junction.

After the dog was hit a BMW rearended a Mercedes at speed according to police in lane two of the dual carriageway.

Traffic was backing up heading into the city and was affecting the M1 turn off.

Firefighters were forced to cut out the battery of one of the cars due to it smoking.

The road was cleared at 1.10pm.
