EAST Midlands Airport has been forced to cancel school visits to its education centre after a leak was discovered in its roof.

The Castle Donington airport has temporarily closed its Aerozone education centre after the leak was discovered on Wednesday.

Aerozone, which offers a range of activities for local schools and colleges, opened in 2010. It provides an opportunity for students to find out what happens behind the scenes at an airport and inspire them to consider a career in the industry.

A spokeswoman for the airport said: "The leak was discovered on Wednesday and, in the interests of safety, we have decided to cancel school visits.
