Alfreton Sunday: Home sweet home for Rainbow
RAINBOW International were handed home advantage as they won an ill-tempered Division One affair 2-1 against Crib Bar.
With Crib’s Nottingham Road pitch in Ripley declared unfit, the match was switched to Moorways.
Rainbow took the lead when Matt Wright took advantage of a goalkeeping howler to prod home.
They extended their lead through Craig Buxton’s tap-in and although Adam Nicholls reduced the deficit with the goal of the game from 25 yards, it was not enough to save Crib.
Dave Robinson gave bottom club Leabrooks Corner took a shock lead against Pinxton MW but Kieran Debrouwer, Joe Bacon and Shaun Elliott (2) turned things around to clinch a
4-1 win.
Leaders Kilburn ran out 3-2 winners against Westwood Royal Oak, thanks to goals from Wayne Hutchinson (2) and Jason Furlong.
Tim Moore and Paul Harpham replied for Royal Oak.
In Division Two, FC Welfare 1925 won a thrilling high-octane encounter 5-4 against Marlpool White Lion.
Welfare took a 4-1 half-time lead thanks to Gavin Mee (2), Matthew Hunt and Carl Frost but Marlpool battled back to make it 4-4.
However, Ross Knightley struck a majestic winner to send the home fans delirious.
In Division Three, Dan Quinn’s strike was enough to give Ripley Horse & Jockey victory over fellow strugglers PJ’s Snooker Club.
Elsewhere, four-goal Lloyd Davis led South Normanton Villager to an 11-0 win over Hilcote MW.
