Mitchell Sports Division One

They may still top the Division One table but KILBURN FC’s star appears to be on the wane? At the end of a scrappy first half they were tied 1-1 with visitors AFC SOUTH WINGFIELD; Jay Furlong having scored for the league leaders, Scott Bryan for their opponents. However, it was one-way traffic in the second period as Jay Miles (2) and Dean Owen found the net to provide Wingfield with a 4-1 victory margin.

LEABROOKS CORNER doubled their season’s points tally when they drew for the second successive week; this time earning a highly creditable draw on their visit to SHIRLAND MW. Craig Shaw, Richard Harrison and Dean Bramley goals should have been enough to secure the win, but the home defence was breached an equal number of times by Drew Moseley, Shane Buckerfield and Richard Hardy.

MG Financial Services Division Two

BULLS HEAD’s position as league leaders is under threat from FC WELFARE who maintained their 100% league record with a vital 3-1 win.

ROSE AND CROWN maintained their own challenge by beating DEVONSHIRE ARMS 5-2. Anthony Rowley scored two more and there were further goals from Matthew Byard, Lewis Allsopp and Darren Mason-Barrett. Jake Brown and Arturo Gugala replied for the visitors.

SELSTON HORSE and JOCKEY secured a rare point in a 1-1 draw with JOLLY COLLIERS; Ibrahim Ashtoft their scorer.

Out of Town Division Three

In the only game played, SOUTH NORMANTON VILLAGER increased the gap at the top by beating RIPLEY WHITE LION 4-1; this after Richard Burton had given shot the visitors in front. Danny Riley grabbed an equaliser before further goals from Richard Lee (2) and Joe Johnson sealed the victory.
