Alleged thief hit by car after handbag snatch in Derby
Derby police are investigating a handbag snatch in which the alleged thief was later hit by a car, breaking his leg.
The incident happened in an alleyway just after midday yesterday in Normanton Road, Derby.
As her bag was grabbed the woman fell and injured her knee and head.
Witnesses saw two youths run from the alleyway. One of them was hit by a Skoda and suffered serious injuries. The other ran away.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested shortly afterwards and a 17-year-old youth was taken to hospital with a fractured leg.
