IT will be business as usual over the Christmas period at Rycroft Fisheries, Hemington.

Places are still available for the Boxing Day open match and the weekly Saturday open, which is scheduled for the Moat Lake, while the sixth round of the Rycroft Winter League will go ahead as planned.

Weights have been excellent over the past week, with all those who braved the snow for the Nathan's Sensors Groundbait match last Thursday being rewarded with big weights.

Sean Scriven led the way in this match, which was held on the Carp Lake. He caught 82lb 10oz using feeder and bomb.

Runner-up Dave Mayo caught 57lb 14oz, while third-placed Peter Warren tipped the scales with 35lb 6oz.

Chris Ball finished fourth with 32lb 4oz.

The ice had to be broken before the Saturday open match on the Clover Lake, with only six anglers making the trip.

Peter Warren used a combination of bread and pellet on the pole for a winning weight of 31lb 10oz.

Barry Walters finished as runner-up with 10lb 8oz, while Chris Ball secured third place with a 9lb 10oz net.
