MANAGER Kevin Wilson was sent to the stand as his Ilkeston side lost amid controversy last night.

His anger centred on a 39th- minute incident when a Greg Tempest corner appeared to cross the goal-line as Ilkeston forwards also claimed a Hednesford man had handled.

Wilson told the referee at half-time: "It was a yard over the line."

That meant he had to find a new perch at the break and arrived in time to see the home side take a 46th minute lead. Midfielder Elliott Durrell hooked home a shot from the right.

Ilkeston tried to hit back but the home side kept the upper hand and scored a penalty with five minutes left. T

he referee spotted a foul and Durrell drove the ball home, although keeper Chris Martin got a hand to it.

With the game slipping away, Ilkeston put on teenage striker Dereece Gardner but Hednesford keeper Dan Crane was never at full stretch. The closest the Robins came was a header from Joe Maguire which was a yard wide after a corner.
