Animals in circuses should be banned
RECENTLY, the Government held a public consultation on circuses and their use and abuse of wild animals, for so-called "entertainment". Surely it is long overdue to have a complete ban, many circuses prove they can exist very well without animals.
I am now shocked and sickened that the "Great British Circus" – which brags the inclusion of animals with a picture of a tiger on their posters will be in Stapleford during April – particularly after the recent video evidence of violence used to train circus animals, and how they suffer in their cramped unnatural environment and in transit.
I urgently implore people not to buy tickets.
A ban will come closer if we do not support this cruel suffering of animals who do not have a voice except us. All animals deserve kindness, care, respect and dignity.
If a ban is put in place, existing circus animals will be freed to live in a safe, natural stress-free environment.
