Anti-cuts group stages city protest

A GROUP of demonstrators hit the city centre streets to protest about government cuts and the bailing out of the banks.

Derby Uncut is a direct action, anti-austerity group which wanted to show that the banks have taken vital funding and that they "might as well take the shirts off their backs".

About 10 people had names of services that are losing funding in Derby written on their shirts and, after the demonstration, they took them into an RBS branch.
