Appeal bid to open takeaway in village
A BUSINESSMAN has appealed after planning officers refused permission to open a takeaway in Willington.
Dimitrius Miaou applied to South Derbyshire District Council to change a hardware store in Beech Avenue in to a hot food outlet.
A decision was originally made in August. A consultation period has now opened following the appeal.
People who want to have a say on the plans can do so online at www.pcs.planning portal.gov.uk.

“Many of the comments made are nothing to do with the rules of "Planning".”

“utter rubbish - send all the under 18 year olds to Auschwitz as well.
Actually, the application was thrown out due to environment and location concerns in that all the food outlets in Willington are in the centre of the village. I know - I was sent the application response from the planning committee.
You and the miserable, selfish "residents" which you claim to know all their views are just NIMBYs who do not want kids on the Twyford Road Field either. All kids should be moved out of the village if you had your way.”

“Its been thrown out for a reason and a good one - Willington has had problems will large gangs of yobs hanging around the village causing nuicence noise and general anti social behaviour for years, a fast food shop will only make this problem worse which is why its been thrown out, simple really”

“Exactly - you "imagine" they wouldn't "want" it - different to not needing.
And easily obtainable? Utter testicles - Repton has a second rate chippy and a chinese, Willington has a chinese too and that's it unless you drive to Hilton or Littleover - which are not "nearby".
It's people like you that need to be stopped from forcing their opinions on others for what they thinkas the greater good. Maybe I'll ask for Auschwitz to be reopened and ask to be a guest there since you do not allow free speech.
I live in the immediate vicinity and do not object to it. As a consumer I should be allowed to choose what I want without having to go miles out of the way to get it. Oh wait - I've got Nazi Horse to tell me otherwise.”

“I would imagine most villager would NOT want a fast food shop on Beech Avenue, beleive me! Especially those in the nearby on Oaks Road/Beech Avenue. If you want fast food/junk food its easily obtainable at Repton or other villages closeby. Thank goodness the planners have seen sense and thrown it out/”

“Erm - thanks for telling me what I need. The antisocial stuff is utter garbage.
Police deal with the chavs quite well in Willington.
Tell you what - shut all the shops, abandon all your cars - we don't them as they're antisocial. Hark, the footpaths are closing! (Erm - not they're not)”

“Who are you to tell me I do not need it? As a consumer, there is no competition or choice in the village. The antisocial stuff is a smoke screen - policing is good in the village for the most part.
The real sufferers are the owners of Homeware who cannot get a buyer for their shop. People would have an empty shop which will attract nuisance...
Tell you what let's all knock down the houses and live in caves to preserve the traditional "way of life"...”

“Good - villagers do not need it - it will just create another anti social behaviour blackspot”
