Appeal over conman who stole Lewis cash
A BOGUS entertainer who ran off with money donated to the Lewis Mighty Fund is believed to have been spotted in Chesterfield and Blackpool.
Peter Stead posed as the brother of comedian Peter Kay to con money out of well-wishers in Derby by offering to put on stand-up shows in pubs and clubs in return for donations.

WANTED MAN: Peter Stead claimed he was the brother of comedian Peter Kay.
But he never returned to perform the gigs after being given the cash up-front and has not been seen since the Derby Telegraph featured the story last year. His mug shot was on BBC Crimewatch last month and since then police have had reports of a man matching his description being seen in Chesterfield and Blackpool.
They are now appealing to residents in the areas for information on his whereabouts.
Police say Stead is in his 40s, of large build, with sandy blond hair.
The Lewis Mighty Fund was launched to raise £300,000 to send Lewis, from Mackworth, to America for cutting-edge cancer treatment.
It was launched after the five-year-old's parents were told the youngster had just a 20% chance of surviving because he has a rare form of the disease.
Anyone with information is asked to call the investigation team on 0345 123 3333 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
