Police have arrested five men in connection with violent disorder after the Derby County v Stoke City match last weekend.

Three of the men were arrested this morning on suspicion of violent disorder. They were questioned and released on bail.

They were a 32-year-old Oakwood, a 32-year-old from Allestree and a 19-year-old from Bramcote.

Two men, aged 37 and from Bolehill and 40 and from Wilmorton, were arrested on Saturday.

The three arrested today have bail conditions not to attend any football matches.

Police were called to Midland Road, Derby, at around 6.10pm on Saturday following reports of a disturbance in the street and damage to a window.

Superintendent Gary Parkin said: “A match between Derby County and Stoke City had taken place earlier that day and while the match passed off peacefully, there was a pocket of disorder in the city later that evening.

“This is an ongoing investigation and we plan to make further arrests. Pride Park is a safe place to watch football but disorder occasionally breaks out away from the ground and it will not be tolerated.

“We will always take action against those who commit football-related violence.”
