A CRICKET club which faced £10,000 of damage after a fire at its base has now been targeted by thieves.

Arsonists are believed to be behind the fire at Hilton Cricket Club's pavilion, in Marston Lane, last October.

The fire, which started in the score box, spread to the roof of the pavilion. Work on the pavilion was completed weeks later and the rebuild of the score box started in January.

But, between 2pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday, thieves forced open the door of a portable building on the site before searching inside. Nothing was stolen during the incident.
