A MAN was taken to hospital after being attacked with a samurai sword at a Derby club.

The victim suffered head injuries and a minor cut to his chest during the attack at the London Midland Railway Recreational Club Association – formerly the Sir Robert Peel pub – in Wellington Street.

He was discharged after treatment following the incident at about 3pm on Saturday.

A man was arrested and questioned at Derby's St Mary's Wharf police station.
