Attack victim left needing stitches

AN assault victim needed stitches to a facial wound after being robbed in Mackworth.

Now police want witnesses to the offence, which happened on Kingsway, near the junction of Enfield Road to come forward.

The 39-year-old victim was hit by a man who ran off across the dual carriageway and up Enfield Road.

The victim was walking from the city centre when he was approached by man he described as Asian or dark-skinned Eastern European.

The man started talking to the victim and walked with him before assaulting him and taking some money.

The attacker was around 5ft 10in and of slim build. He had short black straight hair, was aged 30 to 35 and wore dark, casual clothing.

Anyone with information about the attack, at 12.30am on Sunday, December 16 should call 101.
