A MAN man attempted to steal a woman’s bag in Chesterfield.

The incident happened between 5.55am and 6.20am on Friday, February 8, in Brimington.

A 31-year-old woman was walking along Lansdowne Road, near the junction of Chesterfield Road, when a man approached her from behind and tried to grab her bag.

She turned and ran back along Lansdowne Road and nothing was taken.

The man was wearing a dark woolly type hat and it is thought he ran towards Brimington.
