Derby chief executive Sam Rush said: “The results posted are very much in line with our expectations, and although they relate to a time prior to my arrival at the Club, they do offer evidence of one of the key factors that attracted me to Derby.
“We have a strong ownership group, who continue to be the single biggest source of finance for Derby County.
"The simple truth is that somebody has to cover our working capital needs, as well as make continued investments in our squad and wider infrastructure.
"The ownership group’s strength offers the club that much needed financial stability."

“Seem to recall statements of a budget for players wages of around £8 to £ 9million , which asks the questions , what are the other big expenses, and if we still have better attendances than most clubs, what losses do these other clubs incur?.”

“yes we have a 34million debt but we have an amazing ground and training ground already built Bristol rovers are building a new ground which will cost 150million.If we sell will hughes and nigel gets 6 to 8 million then that will make us stronger he can buy a centeback leftback and a 2million pound forward and still have money leftover.”

“Wiklow, the term 'sleeping investors' is total nonsense. GSE may run the club but do you think that the owners do not have a significant say in the major financial decisions? Of course they do, they have got far too much money at stake not to take a very active role.
I have commented further on the other thread.”

“Yet more folks who think the way to go is to spend your way out of a loss. Might want to go and watch QPR and see how that pans out, eh?”

“derwentx ...the bit about 'lack the acumen to make changes" refers to GSE not the sleeping investors, a touch of careful reading may help in future.
I make no apologies that the reality I have brought to some of you is hitting home. Yes it hurts but mark my words it will get worse. Meanwhile, you will be fobbed off with reasons, excuses to buy your time and your loyalty; but not me, nor thousands upon thousands of other Rams fans.
It is not surprising that the club's debt is rising, the gates are falling and the team has no prospect of being promoted with GSE in control AFTER FOUR YEARS.
The club is going nowhere and nowhere is not where I, or many thousands of others are interested in being. I am a DCFC fan but I will not accept what we have been served up anymore.”

“This set of accounts is before the start of this season so will not have the effect of the lower attendences or the cost of the new advertising boards.
My question is that we were meant to have lost the higher earners so why hasn't the operating costs gone down?”
