BREAKING: Taxi smashes into Ascot Hotel in Derby

A TAXI has crashed into a wall outside a Derby hotel.

The incident happened at the Ascot Hotel, in Addison Road, at about 8.45am this morning.

Police said the Toyota Avensis was shunted from behind by a Vauxhall Corsa, causing it to strike a breezeblock wall outside the building.

Police were also called to an earlier collision on the A515 at Cubley, near Ashbourne.

Three vehicles were involved, though officers said no one suffered any life-threatening injuries.

The crash involved a Toyota Yaris, a Mercedes convertible and Nissan van.

The road closed for and hour and 20 minutes while the scene was cleared.
