Bangladesh A were set 285 to win off 77 overs after

Derbyshire declared their second innings on 176-8 on the final

day of their match at the County Ground.

Chris Rogers was 39 not out and Nayan Doshi 17 not out when

Derbyshire backed out. The only wicket of the morning came when

Dan Birch, batting with a runner because of a swollen knee, was

bowled by Rubel Hossain for three.

Bangladeshi openers Tamim Iqbal (60) and Junaid Siddique (25)

made good progress to put on 84 for the first wicket in 21

overs but both fell in quick succession to Jake Needham.

But Bangladesh stayed in the hunt, even though Greg Smith

struck in his first over to remove Nazimuddin and added the

scalp of Shakib Al Hasan, a second neat stumping for young

wicketkeeper Tom Poynton.

Raqibul Hassan was lbw not offering a shot to Wayne White but

at 187-5 at tea, needing 98 runs to win off 28 overs, the

contest was still in the balance.
