A DERBY woman who has been taking part in a TV dating show has been whisked away on a romantic trip by a fellow contestant.

Burlesque dancer Fleur Du Mal entered ITV1 hit show Take Me Out to find a date with an eligible bachelor.

And on Saturday's episode, the 27-year-old, who lives in Derby, was paired up with contestant James Le Rouge from Bournemouth.

Take Me Out, presented by comedian Paddy McGuinness, features 30 single girls looking for a man.

The girls are presented with men looking for a date and each has a light. If they do not like what they see, they turn off their lights.

When James first appeared, 19 girls, including Fleur, left their lights on.

When asked what she thought of the contestant, Fleur said: "Well hello cutie. Do you know what Paddy, I have a massive thing for men who wear glasses."

James, who appeared on the show wearing a red bow tie, told viewers the kind of woman he was looking for was someone who had "a lot of vitality and energy".

He said: "It's time that Le Rouge found his lady in red."

By the end of the round featuring mountain biking enthusiast James, only Fleur had her light left on.

She told Paddy: "I was never going to switch off."

When James was asked if he would have picked Fleur if he had a choice, he replied: "Well I... it's, it's..."

But then he quickly added: "I was just a little bit speechless for a minute there."

Fleur, who works as a freelance burlesque dancer and performs in one-off shows across the county, also has a part-time job at the watch stall in Derby Market place.

She told the Derby Telegraph last month that she entered the show because she was not having much luck with relationships.

Last night, Fleur was not available to comment.

Her date with James will be shown on next Saturday's Take Me Out.
