A CANCER charity is to benefit from this year's Bloodstock Open Air Festival in August.

For the second year running, the Teenage Cancer Trust will receive money raised at the heavy metal event at Catton Hall, near Walton-on-Trent.

The money will come from guests who attend the festival and are asked to give a donation, as well as other activities over the weekend in which people are involved.

These will include a t-shirt amnesty in the Teenage Cancer Trust marquee, with old rock and metal t-shirts available in exchange for a donation, and where festival goers donate their old t-shirts.

Organisers are expecting this year's festival to be the best yet, with more than 12,000 people descending on the Derbyshire countryside to see such acts as Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir and Alice Cooper.

Bloodstock festival founder Paul Gregory said: "We have a long history of supporting worthy causes.

"I'm sure the fans will be happy to give their support and spread the awareness of such a worthy cause."
