FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at the Bombardier site in Derby.

Crews from Ascot Drive and Nottingham Road fire stations attended the scene, in Litchurch Lane, shortly before 3am yesterday.

When they arrived, they discovered the fire in an electrical motor of a fume extraction fan and spent about 20 minutes tackling the flames with carbon dioxide.

No one was hurt in the incident and the cause of the fire is not known.

“Ray,Chellaston. Its you that needs to wake up and appologise to the DET on this occasion.
On Monday the 2nd August 2010 the station closed down and all operations were moved down the road, at the other end of ""Ascot Drive"", to a temporary station behind the bus depot.”
