LOW-COST airline Ryanair was due to begin flights to two new Spanish routes from East Midlands Airport today.

The budget operator, the largest airline at the Castle Donington airport, will run flights to Barcelona's Reus Airport and Palma.

The airline will also restart a route to Rimini.

Ryanair first announced the summer routes in March.

It had pulled flights from East Midlands to Paris to make way for the new Spain routes as bosses said they were under-performing.
