A BELPER housing developer has won a top award for health and safety.

Peveril Homes was awarded a Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents at the Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2009.

In total, Peveril has now been awarded gold five times. This is the fourth consecutive year.

The annual ceremony recognises organisations that have excellent health and safety management systems in place, as well as those who reduce the number of accidents and cases of ill-health in the workplace.

The award was presented at a ceremony at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre.
