BURTON Albion will not appeal against captain Zander Diamond's sending-off in Saturday's 1-1 draw away to Wimbledon.

Manager Gary Rowett says that video footage from the game is insufficient to prove Diamond's innocence in a penalty-box tussle with Wimbledon centre-half Pim Balkestein at a Burton corner.

As Balkestein fell clutching his face, referee Jeremy Simpson felt Diamond had butted his opponent and showed a straight red card, which will now see the defender suspended for four matches.

"We don't think there was any contact but there isn't going to be enough footage to prove nothing happened," said Rowett.
