Bus crashes into gate post sending concrete ball careering down a hill

A DOUBLE-DECKER bus crashed into a gate post dislodging a half-tonne concrete ball which rolled down a hill and hit a car.

Police and the Highways Agency were called out to the incident which happened in Hall Bank, Hartington, just before 10am today.

The decorative concrete ball was on top of the gate post and after becoming dislodged rolled down the hill and hit a Nissan Vanette.

No one was injured and the vehicles are in the process of being recovered from the scene.
