'Busiest day' for designer outlet
A DERBYSHIRE shopping outlet has reported a record levels of trade during the festive season.
McArthur Glen's East Midlands Designer Outlet, in South Normanton, said it experienced its busiest single day of trading on Thursday, December 27.
The centre said sales of perfume and cosmetics were up 46% compared to last year, while children's wear and casual wear sales were up 23% and 14% respectively.
Centre manager Kenny Murray said: "Christmas exceeded our expectations. We had 11 new stores open in 2012, which helped attract more festive shoppers."
