RIPLEY Rhinos narrowly beat Rolls-Royce 2nds 12-7 in a scrappy Pennant League affair at Mill Hill.

After a scoreless first half, Rhinos took the lead with a Zeique Robinson try, which was converted by Gareth Roebuck.

Royces levelled with a converted try of their own but, five minutes from time, Keith Buzzard crashed over to win the game for Ripley.

Burton dropped down a place to fourth in Midlands Two West.

They were overtaken by Dudley Kingswinford, who thrashed bottom club Camp Hill 67-7 in the division's only game at the weekend.

In Midlands Four East (North), Amber Valley were well beaten, 63-6, away to Oakham.

Chesterfield Panthers moved up to fourth in Midlands Five East (North) thanks to a 32-0 success at home to basement club Castle Donington.

And in Midlands Six East (NW), University of Derby were defeated 47-11 at Dronfield.
