CCTV snares armed robber Craig Robson after attack on Coral Bookmakers in Chaddesden
A ROBBER who held up a bookmakers was arrested after he was identified from CCTV footage.
Craig Robson robbed Coral Bookmakers in Chaddesden, with just his hood up for a disguise, threatening the assistant manager with a weapon wrapped in a bag.
Robson, 29, demanded that she give him money and she handed over £400 from the safe, after which he ran off, Derby Crown Court was told.
Prosecutor Jonathan Straw said: "Thankfully, the bookmakers has good-quality CCTV in it and the defendant was arrested after he was identified on the footage."

He was also seen in the premises 10 minutes prior to the robbery, which had been at 5pm on October 28, appearing to check out the place. Mr Straw said it had been "an extremely terrifying experience" for the assistant manager.
He said: "She thought it was a hammer in the bag but it was in fact a piece of wood."
The court heard Robson, of Donington Drive, Sunny Hill, had a criminal record, which included a previous robbery and shoplifting.
Jailing Robson for four years, Judge Andrew Hamilton said: "Your record includes a serious robbery in 2008, when you were given 40 months' imprisonment.
"This offence involved a robbery of a small business and use of a weapon. Fortunately, no-one was injured but it must have been an extremely frightening experience. There was clearly some planning."
In the police interview, Robson replied "no comment" to all the questions.
But in court he admitted robbery.
Chris Hallas, in mitigation, said: "He says he feels more secure in a prison environment and said he was not bothered about how long he got – it is perhaps a sad reflection of his lifestyle."
