A CANCER patient who created a charity calendar has thanked supporters for helping her raise £4,500.

The Clean Up for Cancer calendar was the brainchild of Melbourne resident Elaine Dunnicliff, who is recovering from kidney cancer.

She hopes the calendar, featuring pictures of people from South Derbyshire who have had cancer, will raise £10,000 for Royal Derby Hospital's Nightingale Macmillan Unit.

Recent fund-raising included a sale in Melbourne which raised £280. Ms Dunnicliff said: "A very big thank you to all my staff and helpers."

The calendar costs £5. For a copy, call Elaine on 07779 220 847 or visit the Macmillan Information Centre at Royal Derby Hospital, or Melbourne Post Office.
