Car dealer Inchcape reports profits rise
A BUSINESS which has a number of car dealerships in Derby has reported a rise in full-year profits.
Inchcape, which has five dealerships on Pride Park, this morning reported a 24% rise in pre-tax profits for the year to December 31, from £203.4 million to £251.5 million.

The company, which sells cars all over the world, also saw sales rise by 4.4%, from £5.8 billion to £6.1 billion.
Inchcape said it achieved sales growth in all of its geographic segments, apart from Europe, where sales fell 23.5% as trading conditions, particularly those in Greece, continued to be challenging.

In Derby, Inchcape’s dealerships include Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Smart and Hunters Land Rover.
Group chief executive Andre Lacroix said: “2012 was another strong year with market share gains in many regions and further progress on customer service.
“We expect the group will deliver a robust performance in 2013, notwithstanding the increased competitive pressure
on vehicle margins.”
