“This again is the stark truth regarding the way our society is, as if it's accepted that this type of crime just seems to be the 'norm' nowadays, whereas 30/40 years ago it would have quite a shock in that town/neighborhood. These days it's a case of reporting such a crime, receiving a crime number and claiming on your insurance, hence losing out always, money wise, inconvenience wise, and all the upset besides knowing that some horrible vile piece of scum has been in your house scurrying about like the vermin they are!!! The fact that they may never be caught and punished for their crime should be in itself a good enough reason to give out the message that this type of crime is going to result in a very long time behind bars thus sending out the message that crime does not pay and not the other way round. The deterrent is just not there and hasn't been for a long time, with mediocre sentences adding insult to injury in many cases. When is this justice system going to wake up and smell the coffee and start really punishing the vile that commit such crimes instead of slapping them on the hands and telling them they have to be good little boys from now on..how about 7-10 years for this thief if he is eventually caught with no parole and some hard labor thrown in for good measure, then see how quick they want to break into someones house and steel their car once they'r unleashed again. Anyone agree out there?”
