'Challenge' school's £600k boost to improve results
A DERBY secondary school is to get a £636,800 boost after it formally became a National Challenge Trust in January.
Bemrose Community School will get the Whitehall money to help improve progress among pupils following its link-up with Littleover Community School.
Bemrose School was one of 638 schools named nationally two years ago, where less than 30% of pupils failed to achieve five or more A* to C grades.
Derby City Council proposed the school should become a trust school, meaning that Littleover Community School would appoint a majority of the governing body.
