Championship news: Birmingham City boss Lee Clark challenges strikers after Marlon King blow
BIRMINGHAM City boss Lee Clark has challenged his strikers to grab their chance after top scorer Marlon King was ruled out for the rest of the season.
King, who has 14 goals to his name this term, will miss the remainder of the campaign after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.
That leaves Blues with three recognised senior strikers to choose from for Saturday's Championship clash with Derby County at St Andrews - Nikola Zigic, Peter Lovenkrands and Wes Thomas.
"Of course it is a massive blow not having Marlon," said Clark. "You lose goals and his leadership in the dressing room but it’s a chance for somebody else now.
