Chance for people to have their say on cancer services
CANCER patients and their carers are being invited to talk about the future of the condition's health services.
A group led by GPs – called the East Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group – has been set up to take over local health services as part of the nationwide shake-up of the NHS.
And the body has teamed up with the charity Macmillan Cancer Support for a two-year project to look at the provision of cancer services in Burton and Uttoxeter.
As part of this project, they have organised a workshop at the East Staffordshire Children's Centre, in Waterloo Street, Burton, on Thursday, from 9am until 12.30pm.

Burton GP Dr Charles Pidsley, who is the chairman of the group, said: "We are at an early stage of reviewing our services for people with cancer and this workshop is an important part of a consultation to help us find out people's view.
"You don't need to be someone who has, or has suffered from, cancer to give us your opinion.
"The views of relatives or carers are just as important."
