Child's illness plight inspires helpers to create extra room
GENEROUS companies have pooled their resources to help improve the quality of life of a family and their seriously-ill son.
Four-year-old Reuben Sims, who has the life-limiting condition Pompe disease, is cared for around the clock by his parents, Hayley Sims and Colin Schloss.
But when the couple converted the living room of their Mickleover home into a mini-hospital, they needed to create an extra room to give them more space.
Asda's Sinfin store, along with Sinfin Moor Social Club, helped raise the cash for a conservatory, while Derby College and Radleigh Homes did the work.

Consort Conservatories donated the uPVC units.
Karen Roberts, Asda Sinfin's community colleague, said: "It's been incredible to see so many people come together to help get this family the room they need."
