PEOPLE in the county should brace themselves for chilly weather during the coming week.

It may have felt like spring last weekend but thanks to freezing north easterly winds from Scandinavia, temperatures are set to plummet.

George Goodfellow, weather forecaster at the Met Office, said the weather looked unlikely to change quickly.

He said: "The long-term picture looks cold and dry. There may be a chance of overnight frosts and some fog later in the week.
