Christmas lights switch on (with video)
DERBY shone as Christmas lights were switched on across the city today.
The Westfield Centre lights were turned on by X Factor contestant, Stacey Solomon, this afternoon.
And then, at 6pm, the city centre came alive as the Derby Live lights were switched on by panto performers, Santa and the Mayor of Derby, Lisa Higginbottom.

Carolynne Poole, a contestant on this year's X Factor, performed to thousands of people gathered in the Market Place.
Stacey, who appeared on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2010, said Christmas was her favourite time of year.
"It's so exciting, I look forward to it all year round. The tree is already up in my house, I can't wait for the big day.
"Being back in Derby is amazing and to be here turning on the Christmas lights is an honour."
