City 'misguided' on immigration issue, according to Ukip
THE UK Independence Party has labelled plans from Derby City Council's Labour leadership to ask for cash to help cover the cost of more migrants coming to the city "misguided".
Officials want more money to help with the integration of European migrants so there is funding for things like new social housing and school places.
Their request comes as scores of migrants are expected to arrive from Romania and Bulgaria next year under EU "freedom of movement rules".
But Ukip Derbyshire's Alan Graves said the council should be "using whatever political influence it has to lobby the Government to cut migration".

He said: "It is indicative of Labour to throw money at an issue in the hope it will go away when it is morally wrong to expect the taxpayer to foot the bill."

“It's a shame the Labour council don't lobby for the issues that are important rather than spending our money on telling us about cuts that we already know about! incompetent..”
