DERBY has been named as one of the two best cities in the UK for disabled access by a panel of experts.

The city was one of two from the country, along with Chester, to be shortlisted for the European Commission's Access City Europe Award.

Berlin took the top prize.

The award recognises and cities which carry out excellent work to "improve accessibility in the urban environment".
