Closure of pottery marked 30 years on
THE 30th anniversary since the closure of Langley Mill Pottery has been marked by members of the Langley and Denby Pottery Collectors' Society.
Members held a quiz at their Christmas social to commemorate the occasion, before bags with numerous items were circulated around the guests – who had to guess their contents.
The group's next meeting will take place at the Heanor Miners' Welfare, in Ilkeston Road, on Monday, January 14, at 7.30pm.
It will feature an illustrated presentation by the group's chairman, John Giblin, on sprigged wares which were produced at both the Langley Mill and the Denby potteries.
