NIGEL Clough praised the character of his Derby County team following a dramatic 3-2 victory over Birmingham City.

Derby lead twice and were pegged back twice before substitute Nathan Tyson scored a late winner.

Clough said: "It's about character, determination and it's also honesty as much as anything from the players. Their honesty is incredible.

"They keep going and keep trying to do the right things.

"I thought the manner of our third goal was as good as anything. It was a brilliant goal."

Tyson finished off the move when he reached Michael Jacobs' low cross to score from inside the six-yard box.

Conor Sammon grabbed two goals for Derby only for Birmingham to twice equalise through a Marlon King penalty and a Peter Lovenkrands' header.
