College marks end of term
LOCAL historian Richard Stone was guest of honour at a strawberry tea to celebrate the end of this term's Never Too Late To Learn programme at Burton College.
The programme, designed for the over-50s, has met each Wednesday since September, with participants studying poetry, history, literature, language, culture, food, hand massage and the ukulele.
In addition, the group has enjoyed several days out, including a visit to Rosliston Forestry Centre.
Lecturer Robin Wood said: "Our series of day schools, specifically designed with the mature student in mind, has been a real success since it was launched.
"Mr Stone was one of our speakers and the classes offer the opportunity to learn a new skill, develop a different interest or hobby and make new friends."
