DERBY College students are celebrating after their union came out top in the country.

The National Union of Students Awards 2008 is the first of its kind to recognise excellence in students' unions across the UK and Derby College Students' Union is the FE Students' Union of the Year.

The union appeared in the final, alongside Canterbury College and Exeter College.

Union general manager Nick Billinge said: “Everything that has been achieved has only been possible through working together as team to provide professional services for our members.”
