DERBY are set to hand a first-team debut to another Colt in tomorrow's Derbyshire Cup semi-final against Ilkeston.

Aaron Finnegan, who can play at centre or on the wing, is expected to start at the The Stute (2pm).

"Aaron has played well for the Colts this season and deserves his opportunity," said Derby head coach Paul McCartin.

"It will be a good experience for him."

In the forwards, Richard Sparkes will also get another chance to start as he builds his fitness following an ankle injury.

Rob Beeston, Tom Taylor-Dawes, Adam Wilson and Chris Meddings are all unavailable, while Darren Hersey, Matt Down and Luke Willmott remain sidelined due to injury.

"We've got a few players missing, so it won't be our strongest side but we're confident in everyone's ability," said McCartin.

"It's a great chance for some players to stake a claim."

Derby beat Ilkeston 42-20 in last season's final at Glossop.

Matlock are in Midlands One East action and could do leaders Derby a favour by beating second-placed Kettering at Cromford Meadows.

Alex Powell is fit again after an ankle injury and will start at full back.

"Having Alex back is a big boost for us and will give us a bit more experience," said head coach Alan Johnson.

"We know Kettering are a very good side but we're up for it.

"We will need to adapt our game to the conditions and make sure we tackle well."

Burton will try again tomorrow to get their home match against Camp Hill played after it was postponed last weekend.

The Crofters are expected to field an unchanged side for the Midlands One West encounter.

Burton Colts' rearranged National Cup clash against Paviors is scheduled to take place at Peel Croft, starting at 7pm to avoid clashing with the day's Six Nations action.
