Council is homing in on top award
A DISTRICT council has been short-listed from more than 300 entries for a prestigious housing award.
Derbyshire Dales is battling it out with five others for a Housing Heroes award, given to organisations and people doing great work in social housing.
The council is vying to be named Development Team of the Year for its success prioritising low-cost homes for local people.
Council leader Lewis Rose said: "I am proud Derbyshire Dales District Council has delivered on its promise to local people by providing 724 new homes since 2002."
The Housing Heroes ceremony, organised by Inside Housing magazine and the Chartered Institute of Housing, will be in May.
